The 2025 Cayman Islands Watercraft Association (CIWA) National Tour is regulated by the official rules & bylaws for the IJSBA.

The 2025 IJSBA Competition Rule Book contains all details for each racing class and can be found here.

Race Registration

Registration opens prior to each upcoming race and closes at mid-night the Thursday prior to the race.

Riders are encouraged to register before the cut-off even if they are uncertain if they will be participating to avoid late registration fees.

Once registration is live, you can conveniently complete the form directly on our website. Additionally, the registration link will be shared within the CIWA group chat and across our social media platforms for easy access. Stay tuned for updates and be sure to secure your spot in the race.

Upon completing your registration, you will promptly receive a confirmation email with race details along with instructions on how to submit payment for your participation. Kindly note that payment must be made prior to your entry into the race.

Late Fees

There will be a CI$ 50.00 late fee for payments made after the payment cut-off time.

Watercraft & Rider Safety

To ensure participation in the 2025 CIWA National Tour and pass tech inspection, please ensure that you have the following mandatory items in order:

Mandatory Items

  1. Helmet: a properly fitting, full-coverage helmet with chin and mouth protection

  2. Life vest: a floataionable vest in sound condition

  3. Footwear: closed toe booties or trainers

  4. Gloves: full or half finger coverage

  5. Eyewear: eye protective goggles

  6. Wetsuits: full body waterproof clothing

  7. Kill switch: marine emergency cut-off which can be attached to life vest

  8. Handle bar padding: properly padded and securely fasten

  9. Back protectors: motocross style brace

  10. Tow loop: attached to the front of the craft

 

Tech Inspection Criteria

  1. Hull and deck in good condition

  2. Steering in good condition

  3. Engine compartment in safe condition

  4. Fire extinguisher per team

  5. Appropriate race number decals

Race & Back-Up Skis

Each rider is permitted to register 1 race ski & 1 backup ski.

The make, model, color, and number must be provided for each ski via registration form.

Riders are given until the end of tech inspection (9:30 am) on the day of the race to make changes.

After the deadline, the information on record cannot be changed. Riders who have not registered a back-up ski will not be permitted to use another ski.

Racetrack

Racetracks vary with each round of the competition.

The specific racetrack for each event will be published and made available prior to the race, ensuring all participants are well-informed and prepared.

New Riders

It is mandatory for new riders to be present at the practice session which usually takes place the day before the race during event set-up.

Details will be announced prior to each race.

Race Fuel

Please refer to the class information for details for information about race fuel.

Number Placement

Accurate number placement on the ski is crucial for scoring purposes.

The number(s) must comply with the required specifications this includes the number being presented in one of the two following backplate colors:

  • A black backplate with white numbers

  • A white backplate with black numbers
